Ice Cream Ireland
If someone sez something nice about you, then the thing to do is say something nice about someone else (once you stop preening, of course). So here it is: Ice Cream Ireland, one of my fave Other Food Blogs, written by one Kieran Murphy who seems to live a NYCE kind of life: He owns Murphys, a pair of ice cream/coffee shops in killarney and dingle (or is it an daingean? the controversy brews) where he makes his own ice creams, is diligent re: coffee, and blogs about it informatively.

Wonder what kind of berries he tops his ice creams with in An Daingean?
I know the answer: dingle-berries
What a great blog he has! Having enjoyed slow coffee in Tuscany, I can definitely relate to his Starbucks-phenomena comment on July 12th...
"Why do people order take-away espressos? I’m happy to serve anything to-go, but where are you going to take 1 oz of espresso? How far are you going to get? Will it not be cold before you get there? Wouldn’t you rather have it in a warmed cup, down it in a few seconds (after all, it is called “Espresso” i.e. “fast”), and be on your way?"
Ice cream, coffee, blah, blah, blah.
Got anything with peanuts?
Howz about some of this for the blog Tereese?

WOOF!!!
Has anyone ever made their own ice cream? I've seen home ice cream makers that look tempting.
Home-made ice cream can be great IF you have the right recipe. It can be awful if you don't. The small ice cream makers, like ones from Cuisinart and others, are pretty good.
Thanks for the post, Teresa! Much appreciated... I think ice cream made at home with an ice cream maker can be the best ice cream you can find anywhere, because you can make it exactly as you like it. It just takes a bit of trial and error!
Even "bad" homemade can be better than "good" storebought. Personaly though Ilike buying a really good quality vanilla and flavorizing it myself. And that is a great blog.
