Bits 'n' Pieces shakes
More idea-borrowing from JITB (altho this time the JITB idea isn't worth borrowing): Steak n Shake’s Bits ‘n’ Pieces milk shakes, wherein PB cups, cookie dough, M&Ms, and cookies & cream are blended into the shake. Steak n Shake is a decent chain which sells steaky burgers and makes the ultimate customer-service sacrifice by staying open 24 hrs. Its shakes, made w/ real ice cream, are already perfect. So why gum things up w/ a buncha straw-clogging crap? And get this: a "regular" 20-oz shake has 964 cals, 34 g fat, & 149 carbs which is 50% of your daily allotment

I guess to each their own, but I stopped at Steak and Shake a couple of weeks ago for the first time and I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I ordered a vanilla shake to go with (a very average) burger, and it was like soft-serve ice cream in a glass. I damn near sucked my intestines up into my esophagus simply trying to get the stuff up the straw. But the time I gave up, with 3/4 of it left, my mouth was so puckered it must have looked like I had been smoking for 30 years.
Who drinks a vanilla shake though? I mean what's the point?
I had an oreo cheesecake shake (I don't even want to think about the calories and fat in that mug) from Bruster's Ice Cream and it was AWESOME, but I do have to agree with the stuff that gunks up your straw. Makes it hard to drink on the go.
Oh, Captain, my Captain!

What have you done with Polar?
Bear with me, for it's a long story.
Oh, NO! Does it have a grizzly ending?
I THINK DOG KILLER MEANS SHE'S SINGLE CELLED. AMOEBAS DON'T HAVE BRAINS. IT'S NICE TO SEE THE POLACK IS BACK!
i agree with bk, the burgers aren't "steak-like", i think it happened to be a good rhyme so they stuck with it.
and the former mr. clairevoyant used to love their shakes, but i couldn't stomach them.
this whole mixin' stuff into shakes/ice cream is everywhere, but my favorite is TCBY's white chocolate mousse yogurt with cookie dough. yummy.
(donald, i think you mean a soft spot in your head.)
I don't know what you mean, Kirk.
but clairevoyant, wouldn't you make an exception for their chocolate shakes?
Do Fries Go With That Shake?
soof, i tried, i really did. i mean, i'd do anything for my chocolate, but something about their shakes is too much to handle.
So, maybe this is why things are shakin' at Steak and Shake?
