ghirardelli intense dark gourmet choc bars
now that the dark choc trend has about peaked, w/ everybody & his brother doing fancy dark-choc bars that are purportedly good for you, here's more of the same: ghirardelli intense dark gourmet choc bars*. ghirardelli is the pride of SF – its factory is a big tourist hang - but its choc's never been all that. but when everyone else started doing better-quality choc, it did finally cave in w/its worthy 60% choc chips. so rah rah for them. These bars come in 4 flavors: espresso, toffee, orange, & plain – and have G's signature square format, just fused in a bar form
*and btw, I know these aren’t brand new but I finally bought one and took a pic

chocolate
Ghirardelli chocolate is a brand where the perception is so far ahead of the reality that its marketing team should either win a prize for creativity or be thrown in jail for defrauding us suckers.
Bernard Callebaut makes the best damn chocolate anywhere.
Period.
Full stop.
I like me some G but you're right they are over rated just a bit.
Bernard Malamud, on the other hand, did not make very good chocolates. On the other hand, he was a Natural.
damn! been away all day. and that rah link was my fave. fixed now
helloooooo. the rah link is fixed.
Of course I've emellished. It's what you do when the chocolate sucks.
So HAS anyone tried any of the other dark chocolate bars that are out? Are any of these any good?
GO BUY SOME AND TRY THEM. DO WE HAVE TO DO ALL YOUR CHEWING FOR YOU?
I'm not going to comment on the chocolate front -- or the rah, rah one either. However, I have a new pint of H-D rum raisin ice cream in the freezer. Won't have to fake my enjoyment of it.
Why people keep trying gimmicky new ice creams when h-d's rum raisin is nearly always available ( being neither "seasonal" or "limited edition") escapes me.
Twisted: the minute I posted, I realized I had an or which should be a nor. know you would have caught it.
In about an hour I'll be raisin' rum and it won't have anything to do with dyslexia or ice cream.
I like the Ghirardelli dark much better than the new Hershey dark. The Hershey dark tastes a bit chalky.
