Dish Neighborhood Cuisine

Unless you live in East Plano, you prob don’t care whether or not its quaint, brick-streeted vintage downtown area prospers. Fine. Be that way. Stick your head in the sand. Meanwhile, perhaps you’ll indulge this tiny bit of partisan cheerleading for Dish Neighborhood Cuisine, an "American bistro" opening at the end of the month (like, next week). You know how every downtrodden neighborhood begs for a Starbucks? Well E-Plano totally needs an upscale place like Dish, to offset the too-high proportion of old-lady places that dominate the 15th-st strip. Chef Blake Liles is a Serious Chef whose resume includes heritage ranch country club. His vision: "Jasper’s at half the price" ... steak frites, fish, and "cool" pizzas a la Fireside Pies a fine role model since it has the absolute best pizza in Dallas.

People seem to like your stories about junk food better than they like finding out about new restaurants.

I would be happier to find "Jasper's, but with good, consistent food and professional service."

I am willing to try this place, though, even if it means traveling to the scary East side...

P.S. What's up with your new "postage stamp"-sized comments section?

someone was asking about Orange Julius the other day and I just heard that there are 400 of them in Food Courts around the country.
Just in case someone would be desolate not getting an answer to that one.

I wonder what kirk means regarding the postage-sized comments section? nothing looks any different to me... or are you perhaps commenting, as anonymous did, on the overall lack of interest in this (what-i-consider-to-be-very-very-important and thus tragically underappreciated) item about a great new restaurant on the EAST SIDE

Never mind, TG. I just cleared the cache on my computer, and everything is back to normal. Ignore my earlier comment!

What East Plano needs is a giant tower. A tower so tall that it kills lawns for miles around. A tower with a 10-acre casino at its base and shops on the second and their tiers. A tower with 96 stories of luxury suites, topped with a mighty penthouse, from which I can spit on you all.

Kirk seems to be projecting his own technical issues on the NYCE blog. Blaming other people for his own computer problems. Kirk, next time you have a problem, maybe you need to look within. Within your own computer rig. Let me guess: You have an Apple? ha ha ha

Sometimes an Apple is just an Apple, Sigi. And I'll skip the temptation to brag about my hard drive.

You better hurry up and finish that thing, kid. I can replace you faster than I can find an eastern european bimbo.

This place is an unbelievable find in a land of chains and wannabee restaurants. It offers outstanding food and service. Go now and kiss-up to Blake and Logan, there is going to be a line to get in before long.

We had our wedding reception at this wonderful restaurant and now it's gone. I've tried contacting Blake. Anyone know what happened?
