Waffle Iron Café & Coffee House
coffee week, day 3
You only need look at the name - Waffle Iron Café & Coffee House - to know that coffee runs second to waffles at this little neighborhood spot. But they do have espresso drinks even if the barista skills are a work in progress. And waffles aren't exactly a bad thing, are they. It's breakfast and lunch, with "fast casual" service (order at the counter and they bring it to you) and free wireless access, which is very cool.
5181 Keller Springs Rd. (at the tollway) 972-250-1166

I go crazy for waffles.
are they regular waffles? like waffle house waffles? or belgian.
DO THEY COME IN BEEF, CHICKEN AND LAMB FLAVORS?
Did someone say lamb?
Hey, for those of us who DON'T live in dallas (aka the center of the universe), how about some news about some national chains? some pepperidge farm news, some starbucks news!
IAMS HAS NEW SAUCES THAT COME IN BACON, CHICKEN AND ROASTED BEEF FLAVORS. YOU OUGHT TO TRY THEM!
In previous lives I was a chicken and a cow, so now I only eat ice cream and drink coffe.
in clairevoyant's alternate universe, do they have starbucks? and are those starbucks serving ice cream? i haven't been to my local branch yet; i fear the worst. i fear a MOB SCENE
waffle lover, they're BELGIAN waffles. topped w/ various fresh-frozen fruits, whipped cream, choc sauce, the usuals
this may be old news to most of you foodies, but while ENDLESSLY waiting in the dr.'s office this a.m., read newsweek report on Cereality, a new fast-food chain (ariz, chicago and philly now) that just serves breakfast cereal, with bananas or whatever added of course. staff dresses in pjs, cartoons are on the tv. there's a website, www.cereality.com
anyone get free starbucks ice cream today?
jess - and don't forget that omelet place out in the garland area, scramblers
tg must have got her free ice cream; otherwise i'm sure she would be HAUNTING her local sbux instead of being on the internet
scott--dfw: congrats on your "ground squirrel," but a chocolate cigar doesn't cut it with everyone
tom c: perhaps you should see a psychologist about your problem with waffles
twisted dog: you may be in luck at the waffle iron cafe. sig dish is the "herb waffle melt." now if they will just let your companion person in.
mr. cruise,
now you're crazy about waffles. just a few years ago, the ny imes had a story on a small cafe in australia that made scrambled eggs that you and nicole were crazy for. recipe with story called for lots of butter and cream, and you cooked them practically without stirring, just a few strokes from the outside in evry minute or so. i made them; they were ok, but not worth going half around the world for.
clairvoyant,
you only eat ice cream???? feeding off the food of your offspring! tsk, tsk.
let's hear from everyone who scored a free cup of sbux ice cream!
not me, and i waited around my local sbux all afternoon. never saw anyone get a freebie
me neither, nicole. think it was just a come on and feel foolish that i fell for it
maybe tereese got a freebie. after all, she knows the ins and outs of starbucks like no one else
i'm just going to wait for tg's report. i know she will tell us how the operation give-away went
i'm sure, however, that she will report it so as to cast her FAVORITE COFFEE PLACE IN THE WHOLE WORLD in a good light
well as it happens my local sbux was out of the little cups long before i got there. but hey NYCE wasn't the only entity to report on the big free ice cream caper of 2005. reuters ran a story, so did AOL, CNN, a buncha blogs and a website called "totally free stuff"
www.totallyfreestuff.com/index.asp?ID=5406
twisted: the NY Times has an interesting op-ed piece on a new union movement
