free Starbucks® ice cream

coffee week AND a special edition posting!

This is basically verbatim off the press release but that's ok cuz 1. that's how daily newspapers "find news" (snicker) and 2. "recrafting" this info would delay a VIA (very important announcement!): On Wednesday june 29, Starbucks Coffee Co. will give away 1 million complimentary (free!) cups of Starbucks® Ice Cream (the press release also says "in the first-ever Starbucks Ice Cream Social", but how queer is that). The ice cream will be distributed in the AFTERNOON, it says, to "more than 6,000 Starbucks locations". 10,000 boxes of Starbucks® Ice Cream cups will be shipped from 3 warehouses in L.A., Atlanta, and Lancaster-PA, tonight, via FedEx "just in time for customers to celebrate ... the early arrival of national ice cream month." (july's ice cream month? who knew) other flavors besides java chip: mud pie, coffee almond fudge, no sugar added coffee fudge brownie, low fat latte, classic coffee, and caramel cappuccino swirl.

How does a month arrive early? Has Starbucks become so powerful that it can now change our Gregorian calendar?

ron, ask no questions. simply proceed to your nearest starbucks and consume the ice cream product that is being distributed by The Company. if you are smart you will also purchase a delicious coffee beverage during your visit, perhaps one of your favorite frozen drinks seasoned with malt as has been announced previously by this blog. thank you.

i sometimes wonder: if starbucks had existed 34 years ago, would i have jumped out of that plane over washington state. I think i would have done it in oregon.

note the method in tg's madness. she posts this URGENT sbux bulletin atop another item on a coffee place, knowing most of us go to the latest item to make comments. thus she glides past -- or perhaps more accurately, BURIES -- a competitive place that also offers WINE and MOVIE SCREENINGS on a rooftop setting. is she in the sbux pocket or what?

Free stuff! Love it. They might even sucker me into getting a tasty beverage.

please, people, aren't you more interested in gachet, which is NEW and LOCAL than corporate giant starbucks which is afraid to let the workers in one tiny little store form a union? is the possibility that YOU may be one of the "lucky" ones to get a free CUP (!!!) of ice cream sop to your conscience. Doris, I can only guess that your surname is Day.

ahem, my amen was to red, not that loathsome mr. trump. and t.g., why don't you tell us how starbucks is going to pick the FORTUNATE winners of the free ice cream CUPS?

red ennk, i do feel your pain. but put yourself in my position: the STATED PURPOSE of this blog includes "ice cream" and
"espresso drinks". surely you can see that i HAD NO CHOICE. i HAD to post this item as soon as the press release landed in my email basket. perhaps i could've created a blog about LAMB BARBACOA but scott @ DFW DID that already. there were only a few food groups left and those were "espresso drinks" and "ice cream". besides, hello, that gachet item wasn't generating much traffic, if you catch my drift. not like this hot-hot sbux item!

well, mr. trump, my daddy was the nephew of pola negri, which makes me and my almost twin -- lacking only 3 months -- the great-neices of the famous silent actress. who is your daddy? mr. ace of spades?

Belated response to Red Ennk: I live in D.C. There are no local coffee joints near my office. And I failed to stop by Starbucks at all for the "ice cream social."

But when I lived in Dallas, I did much enjoy giving my money to Legal Grounds in Lakewood.
