Baileys: caramel & mint*

Beating this wk's booze theme to death, it's 2 new flavors of Baileys (whose rejection of an apostrophe seems illiterate yet inexplicably deliberate): Baileys Caramel and Baileys Mint Chocolate. They promise they're keeping the "award-winning recipe" (snicker), just "complementing" it w/ xtra flavors. Does it seem uncoincidental that, as Starbucks just entered the coffee-liqueur mkt, this coffee-liqueurier expands out? For some reason, these 2 flavas were intro'd in AZ last mth (hello Phoenix) but for the rest of us schlubs, it'll be avail as a ltd-edition in march for the obvious st pat's tie-in.

*sorry, filing remotely today, no photo, no links, no nuthin'

I love me some Bailey's too. I'll pass on the caramel but I'm willing to try the CM.

I tried to bring a big bottle of baileys into the country when I was 14 or so. Fucking customs confiscated it. It wasn't for me. I'd never drink that crap.

This isn't so new. I've had both of these TG and the original is still the best, though the carmel was pretty good.

Back to you, Clairevoynat

How about "vwweyu?" I think that's what happens when a certain German car hits an American Kobe beef cow at a high rate of speed on a dark road.

Stop posting after me Kirk; you'll only confuse people.

Now say something whitty about gtummz.

OK... what about "yuusij?"

Is it common yuusij, or is it simply slang?

gtummz is what you say when a server asks if you need anything else after a bad meal.

And I don't care a whit, because I know that no one would ever confuse the two of us as being one and the same, Dean.

Well I was out traveling and they were giving it away at the airports, TG. Naturally, I had to do some NYCE reconnaissance work.

LISTEN UP: TG will be a guest on a KERA show at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday.

Also, her computer is down, until Friday at least.

By far, TG has the most insight into the Dallas restaurant scene of this troika.

At January 25, 2006 2:01 PM, Blogger Twisted Link said...

Which is why she should have her own show. Right miz?

At January 25, 2006 7:43 PM, Anonymous ms.ery said...

Twisted: For reasons beyond my control, I didn't even get to hear the show. But of course I agree: tg rules and needs her own show.

Fortunately, I recorded it. I was gonna put a link to the recording up tomorrow but, what the hell, you can hear it here.

Twisted, thanks for record the radio program . I thought all the critics sounded good.
But Dean, I don't understand your comment about Ms.Ery. Do you make everything suspicious? I admire that Ms.Ery has a little faith in someone.

WHEN will T.G. be back with another new blog item???

At January 26, 2006 3:52 PM, Anonymous ms. marple said...

Twisted: Thanks for recording the show. TG did really well -- except for her two early mentions about how restaurants used to bow and scrape when a certain Dallas Morning News food critic came in. Think the critic ought to get to tell her side of the stories. But to Dean's question: Of course, I am biased. If I didn't think Teresa wasn't the best food person currently on the Dallas scene and a winning personality besides, I wouldn't be supporting her.

At January 26, 2006 3:54 PM, Anonymous ms. marple said...

I am afraid ms.ery is trying to hide behind my name.

At January 26, 2006 6:39 PM, Blogger Twisted Link said...

Well, we all know that a certain DMN critic went to extraordinary, and even famous, lengths to keep her identity a secret. (Hell, these days the critics write cook books and appear on TV (for fuck's sake!). Don't get me started on the current media culture!)

Fortunately this certain critic's legacy and good example is maintained by a few certain other critics. Thank god she passed it on. But there's not much one can do against an aggressive restauranteur with a staff trained to keep an eye out for critics. Sometimes the bastards win.
