Il Mulino $45 deal

Becuz it is Xmas week and who has the energy to track down a new place (but also becuz the restaurant in question has been in the news recently), today's item comes almost straight from a publicist's pen - namely that Il Mulino New York is doing a preset 4-course $45 menu, starting today & running thru '06. They'll give you a choice of 1. caprese vs caesar, 2. porcini ravioli vs eggplant seafood rolatini, 3. sea bass, chick, or veal, and 4. dessert sampler. It'll change monthly

I had a wonderful dinner recently at Il Mulino. It's expensive but worth it, in my opinion. They offer a number of free items before you place your order.

Did anyone else notice that the DMN and Phil Romano settled Romano's lawsuit over Dotty Griffith's review of Il Mulino? Apparently, the newspaper agreed that it would review the restaurant again.

Kirk, there's a link on that in the blog item.

So there is! That will teach me not to click through to all off TG's carefully and creatively selected references. But I guess it never hurts to expose the silliness of certain restaurateurs over and over again.

TG: I've been preoccupied this week, just when you had items that weren't candy or a soft drink. I mean Cool Whip, wow! Is it really 40 years old? About time they had a limited edition, whatever the excuse. My excuse for commenting, a week or so ago I sent you an email suggesting a new career I thought you would be brilliant at. Since no response, I may have a bad email address. Let me know.

Geez, it's been, like, six days and no Gubbins. A vacation is no excuse to stiff us for this long...

Mr Shandy... I'm guessing that tg is still busy consuming Bobo tea and crumpets in order to fend off yet another tryptophan holiday "high, how are ya!"

Since you didn't even manage to get born until the 4th volume of your own tome, I bet that you can wait some more and cut her some more slack, no?

And, BTW, where's Tom and Katie when we don't need them??
