have a well-earned long weekend (and thankfully, we won't be getting any sbux propaganda during it)

don't we all wish we could take as long a holiday as ms. tereese. even at my age,i will be working every day, either as house sitter or companion to such clients as paris hilton and michael jackso.

ms. worth: i think you are jealous of tg and her electric blue hair. i'm sure you could retire if you wanted to, if not on soc. sec., on the interest earned by the blackmail payments you've banked over the years. as for myself, every day is a free-floating experience.

what earthly good could t.g. do by posting this weekend. do we need another exhaustive report on how to roast a wienie? let's all take a rest, huh?

doris: how can gelato be a pastime? what do you DO with it?

i know ms.ery, one of my most ardent fans and my guide to this site, knows what the TRUE american pastime is.

well, doris was never a bright light.

how can you tell it is gelato and not vile-colored sherbet?

crooked cur: hope you chase a few lit firecrackers over the holiday. and catch one or two.

"missing" link is probably taking a long holiday, too, reveling in the cooler temperatures of the mysterious portland/area. so tg, where are your true friends when you need them?

i think tg is dedicated. she will check in at least once on this long weekend -- unless she is out of town with no access to a computer.

i'd hope you'd leave us tips on how to cook our holiday franks

regular joe: if you're not cooking them outside, try putting them under a broiler until the skin blackens and bursts.

WOW! The fireworks tonight make me feel like I am jazzed on Starbucks coffee!

Four days without a Teresa Gubbins posting is like a year without Tabasco.

Or just four days without a Starbucks puff piece. Lots of us could go much longer.

doris - so observant. you spotted it was gelato. no statement; i was mostly just trying to find a nyce "ice cream" image. but you saw right through its gelato-ness!

it is true that i was away from the computer this weekend. but good news, ms. ery: starbucks has FREE wireless internet access! and that's how i'm able to post a comment tnite

new product news coming tomorrow! (afternoon, that is.)

Well, it was the signature shovel-shaped spoon that gave it away.

But I was just in a small Maryland town on the Chesapeake Bay. Sadly, most of the locals need schooling in what gelato is and why it's a good thing.

doris, i am in awe of your knowledge. i didn't see the shovel shape in the spoon; to me, it just looked like cheap blue plastic. ah, but i have so much to learn!

you can still forget that "new American pastime" comment. there will never be a gelato maker as famous as babe ruth.

i think tg is bragging about having wi-fi. goody, goody for her.

i just wish she'd get a move on it and post a new item. all those days off and she has to sleep in today? younger people -- even those not a hell of a lot younger -- are not as tough as those my age.
