Nestle/Toll House mint I.C. bar*
Nestle swallowing Dreyer's is slowly but surely tainting Dreyer's (whose ice cream tastes lousier every day), but meanwhile Nestle is exploiting its new ice cream buddy to expand the Nestle name. Last year, it took its Toll House chips and made them into cookies. And now Toll House ice cream bars, the newest flavor being Toll House mint-ice-cream brownie bars, a Dove-bar-ish thing w/ 1. flat brownie base 2. green-tinted mint ice cream 3. "rich chocolatey coating". These novelty items are usually pretty rank but this one tastes OK. (It’s also 330 calories when there are far better ways to splurge.) Part of Nestle's master plan in acquiring Dreyer's was to expand its convenience-store merch, and this for-sure fulfills that goal.

I've read a number of stories on the Dreyer's "slow churned" ice cream, proclaiming it as a new technology and so forth. But I tried it, and to me, it's just airy. I found nothing special about it at all.

isn't there enough news we can eat that you don't have to keep giving us items on foods you don't think we would want to eat?

Have you tried these? BLECH!! If i want a frozen treat (not just ice cream) I would have to go with this bad boy.

the inability to edit comments is indeed a pain. haven't tried the gross-out nestle bar. i'm predisposed to dislike their stuff and was disappointed that i liked these toll house ice cream bars ... but it's easy to make something taste good when it's loaded w/ 330 calories' worth of cream, fat, sugar, etc

I hate to ask a stupid question but what is the connection between Lauren Bacall and Nestle / Dreyer's? Or am I missing something?
