Twix White Chocolate

twix rules but has a downside. To its credit, it has the fab contrasting combo of salty (cookie base) & sweet (caramel & choc), in the same way as LU’s Le Petit Ecolier cookies (plain biscuit+choc) and Hershey’s Take 5 (pretzels+choc) (which btw will have 2 ltd eds this year). If only Twix didn’t have palm kernel oil which is not so great for you and leaves an icky residue on the tongue. And yet despite all that, Twix are still xlnt - even the new ltd ed Twix White Chocolate. Rather than tasting white chocolately, the white choc + the caramel = buttery. sigh maybe a little palm kernel oil isn't so bad

So how does this one compare with the other white chocolate bars out there? Such as the white chocolate Kit Kats and the white chocolate Reese's cup, which I can still find around. The white Kit Kats taste like crap.

WHY DON'T YOU EAT THEM ALL AND GET BACK TO US ON THAT?

Twix are awesome... especially the giant-sized ones.

Mars lists Twix as a snackfood (one word!), and says: "Confectionery tastes great, but it is reassuring to know that Mars snackfoods have real food value that adds interest and variety to a normal balanced diet."

Real food value? Balanced diet?

Wiki doesn't mention palm kernal oil and says Twix contains hydrogenated soybean oil. Having never had the white version, I wonder if it's just that one?

candy man, are you really sammy davis jr reincarnated? he's the candy man. i'm no huge fan of white choc (white kit kats tasted oily, and the white reese's cup is way too much white choc) but i like this twix. but i suspect it's the cookie aspect that makes it so good

bk's blog, i love wiki but they are wrong. i recently examined an actual twix wrapper and was crushed to find palm kernel oil in the ingredients. kit kats have palm kernel oil, too! tsk. i think this is all fairly recent. i thought i remembered a few yrs ago being happy that kit kat did NOT have PKO. and i know it's not the end of the world to consume a little of that; i just prefer to avoid it when i can, and am disappointed to see it in candies i like.

I've eaten three of these over the past two weeks. They're all right, but it definitely doesn't come close to the original.
