frawg

Apple soda, not my fave, but for its fans: 7-Eleven and Pepsi are intro'ing Frawg, an apple-flavored caffeinated soda targeted to teens & 20sumthings. (Is that the 1st generation that grew up drinking apple juice?) For a year, it'll be available exclusively at 7-11 in SlurpeeĀ® and Big GulpĀ® form. Things that make this cool: 1. an exclusive 2. first apple-flavored carbonated drink not from a little guy. Coke=sucker.

I believe apple juice has been given to babies and toddlers -- and older kids, too -- since at least the publication of the first dr. spock book.

T.G., that's a very good lay-out today with your Frawg photo. (I know you like people to notice.) I won't be trying the apple soda, but keep up the good work on your lay-out designs!

I also like today's layout, and loved the link to Jones Soda Co. In addition to their weird publicity-generating products like their Turkey and Gravy flavored soda for Thanksgiving one year, they also have WhoopAss -- the slogan for which is "Open up a can!"

As a result, one of their early SEC filings had the following priceless sentence: "In August 1999 we created, and in October 1999 launched, Jones WhoopAss Soda, the third product extension of Jones Soda Co."

"Great" packaging, too:

This is nothing new. Britvic has had Apple Tango for years.

It's not at all bad, if you like bubbles in your apples.

careful, twisted. i heard drinking frawgs can give you tummy warts

Not very apple-y, then. Does Twisted LIKE mountain dew? What was tried - slurpee or soda? And what color IS it, exactly? Green? Your comment seems to suggest it's BLUE. (You say it's more brilliant than blue raspberry. You can see where that would be confusing.)

Sounds like it tastes like "surge." Whatever happened to Surge?

if surge tasted as blah as twisted says frawg did it must have gone the way of all bad ideas

Huh, well I'm off to bed. Don't call on me until morning! Like late morning.

Surge came back as Vault. We don't have any 7-11's round here so I won't be trying one. Jones Soda rocks. That is all.

One of my favorite drinks is "Lilt" made by Coca Cola. It's not sold here but big in Europe and elsewhere. You can buy it in certain import stores here, or if you're in Atlanta, go to the "World on Coke" and try it there. It's pineapple and grapefruit "with a totally tropical taste." Just stay away from the Chinese Cokes. It was like lychee and something but the combination tasted terrible.
